Group of students walk towards NKC Gravesend College building

North Kent Colleges Group has achieved outstanding national rankings across a wide range of curriculum areas, with five subjects placed in the top echelons nationally in the latest Department for Education performance data.

The recently published DfE performance data tables allow North Kent Colleges Group to compare its 2024/25 achievement rates with around 150 General Further Education colleges across England.

The results show the strength and breadth of provision across the Group’s four local colleges -  NKC Dartford College, NKC Gravesend College, NKC Hadlow College and NKC Tonbridge College.

North Kent Colleges Group also performed strongly in its specialist land-based provision at NKC Hadlow College, with its land-based curriculum ranked in the top quartile nationally of specialist land-based colleges across England.

Particular curriculum areas achieving some of the very highest national results include:

  • Arts
  • Business
  • Computing
  • Health & Early Years
  • Sport, Travel & Tourism

David Gleed, Chief Executive and Executive Principal of North Kent Colleges Group, said:

“These results are a fantastic recognition of all four of our colleges. To achieve such a breadth of high national rankings across our curriculum areas is something we are incredibly proud of. We are delighted that NKC Hadlow College outturns one of the best set of achievement rates for 16-18 years olds for land-based curriculum too.

“Behind these rankings are our students and the staff who support them every day. Our tutors bring real industry knowledge and expertise to their teaching, while our specialist facilities and strong local employer links give students opportunities to develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence they need for their next steps.”

The latest performance data provides further recognition of the Group’s commitment to helping students achieve their potential across a diverse range of subjects, from health and early years, arts and computing to construction, engineering, land-based studies and more.

North Kent Colleges Group became the organisation’s public-facing identity this month (September 2026), bringing together NKC Dartford College, NKC Gravesend College, NKC Hadlow College and NKC Tonbridge College under one Group while recognising the distinctive strengths and important role of each local college.
